Should teachers be fired for sharing they were at the Capitol during the riot with students? That’s a question Prince William County Public Schools is facing after a teacher defended rioters during an online class discussion.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. - A Prince William County teacher who told his students he was at the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot has resigned from the school district.
Benjamin Plummer reportedly told students during a Zoom class that he was present during the incident that led to five deaths – including a Capitol police officer – and one student recorded his comments.

MANASSAS, VA – A total of 2,400 Prince William County Public School employees are scheduled to receive the coronavirus vaccine this weekend, according to a schedule presented at the division s school board meeting Wednesday night.
In a presentation made to the board during Wednesday s meeting, Board Chairman Babur Lateef said that the employees will participate in the mass vaccination clinic Saturday and Sunday when 1,200 vaccinations will be administered each day.
According to information presented during the meeting, Novant Health UVA Health will provide the doses of the vaccines after Gov. Ralph Northam announced Wednesday that more doses of the vaccines will be made available to hospitals across the state.

WOODBRIDGE, VA – A teacher at Fred Lynn Middle School has been placed on leave after he told his students on a Zoom call last week that he was at the riots at the U.S. Capitol earlier this month, according to published reports.
The Prince William Times reported Tuesday that Benjamin Plummer was captured on video shot by a student talking about his experience at the Capitol on Jan. 6 when which insurgents and supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building, the newspaper reported. The paper reported that a letter written by Principal Hamish Brewer to parents saying that Plummer had been placed on leave.
