NAJRAN CITY: Najran Gov. Prince Jalawi bin Abdul Aziz bin Musaed inaugurated the King Saud Road tunnel in Najran on Thursday.
He unveiled the project’s commemorative plaque and listened to Mayor of Najran Eid bin Nayef Al-Otaibi’s detailed explanation about the tunnel and its role in facilitating traffic.
Al-Otaibi said that the project is situated at the intersection of King Saud Road and Prince Muteb Street. It is 850 meters long, and its construction cost SR60 million ($16 million).
It consists of three tracks, as well as a road for service and parking; a rainwater drainage system inside the tunnel; lighting; asphalt; and glass-reinforced concrete decorative interfaces for the tunnel’s retaining walls.
