Nizam’s great-granddaughter questions Centre’s deal with two male heirs By Sakina Fatima|   Published: 4th February 2021 1:08 pm IST Princess Shafiya Sakina Hyderabad: The great-granddaughter of the Nizam VII, Mir Osman Ali Khan on Wednesday approached to the Telangana High Court has alleged that the Central government gave the funds, which belonged to the late Nizam, to only two male heirs and ignored the female heirs. Princess Shafiya Sakina is the daughter of Princess Fatima Fouzia, one of the granddaughters of the seventh Nizam. “My mother and her sister Amina Merzia are the beneficiaries in the Wedding Gifts Trust of the Nizam’s two granddaughters. I and my sister Princess Naqiya Zainab are the ultimate beneficiaries of the said Trust,” Princess Shafiya said in her plea.

ANI | Updated: Jan 14, 2021 08:21 IST Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], 14 January (ANI): Family members of the last Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali Khan have written to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam urging her to resolve the Nizam Jewellery Trust income and wealth tax issue which has been pending with the Income Tax department for the last 26 years. Najaf Ali Khan, grandson of the last Nizam urged for a one-time settlement of the issue stating that 39 of the 114 beneficiaries from the Nizam Family had either expired during this period and most of those remaining were senior citizens facing health and financial issues. In the 1950s, the last Nizam had created various Trusts, one of which was the Nizam Jewellery Trust. The Trustees, which included Prince Muffakham Jah and a government nominated official from the Finance Ministry, were empowered to sell the jewellery.
