Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward will walk behind their father’s car for the journey to St George’s Chapel, where the longest-serving consort in British history will be remembered in the smallest royal funeral of modern times.
In a sign of the deep rift between Princes William and Harry, the pair will walk together in the same row but be separated by Anne’s son Peter Phillips. The brothers also won’t walk shoulder-to-shoulder in the procession which follows the coffin into the chapel.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman would not be drawn on why: “This is a funeral – we’re not going to be drawn into those perceptions of drama or anything like that.”

Prince Philip s funeral will be the first major royal send-off in 19 years, but due to COVID-19 it will be a markedly different event to those that have come before.
The Duke of Edinburgh died peacefully on the morning of April 9, weeks after spending a month in hospital undergoing treatment and surgery.
On Saturday, April 17 the Queen s husband of 73 years will be farewelled in a ceremonial royal funeral at Windsor Castle, with just 30 guests in attendance.

Here are the details that have been confirmed so far.
However the Duchess of Sussex, who is pregnant, has been advised by her doctor not to travel to the UK.
The rest of the Duke s grandchildren and their spouses will also be in attendance, including Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall and her husband Mike, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, Lady Louise Windsor and Viscount Severn.
Other members who will be in attendance include the Queen s cousins Princess Alexandra, the Duke of Kent, the Duke of Gloucester, Princess Margaret s children the Earl of Snowdon and Lady Sarah Chatto, Mr Daniel Chatto, and the Countess Mountbatten of Burma.
The Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex will not walk side by side in the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral procession.
William and Harry, whose troubled relationship has been well documented, will be separated by their cousin Peter Phillips when the trio walk in a line behind their grandfather’s coffin at Windsor Castle on Saturday.
The future king will also be one step ahead of his brother when the coffin is taken into St George’s Chapel, moving ahead of Harry as the royal family, including the Prince of Wales, go forward in pairs.
Details of the duke’s funeral were released by Buckingham Palace on Thursday and final preparations for his farewell are expected to continue on Friday.

Where is it taking place?
St George s Chapel at Windsor Castle at 3pm on Saturday. The ceremonial elements will begin an hour earlier, including a procession which steps off at 2.45pm, followed by the arrival of a Land Rover carrying the coffin and a national minute s silence. The entire funeral will be televised.
