Clarification July 27, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Former Special Assistant to Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari has clarified part of a news item, appeared in ‘The News’ on July 26, 2021 filed by reporter Tariq Butt with the title ‘Zulfi flies abroad but will soon return to Pakistan’ regarding diplomatic passport. Bukhari has clarified that he did not use his Pakistani diplomatic passport that he still holds (after his resignation from the cabinet two months back) while travelling to London and used his British passport for the purpose. Error should be regretted, he said, says a press release.

Zulfi flies abroad but will soon return to Pakistan July 26, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari left for London a week ago and is likely to fly back to Pakistan on August 2. He flew out on a Virgin Atlantic flight, an informed source told The News. The source said that before his departure, Zulfi Bukhari celebrated the inquiry report of the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on the Rawalpindi Ring Road (R3) project with fanfare and fireworks at his Islamabad home claiming that he had been exonerated in it. However, the ACE refuted this claim. Since the ACE inquiry made no mention of Bukhari, he read it as his ‘vindication from the false allegation’ levelled in the initial unilateral fact-finding report of Rawalpindi Commissioner Gulzar Shah. Before his resignation in the wake of the commissioner’s report, Zulfi Bukhari was in-charge of the labour and overseas Pakistanis ministry. He had been cited by implication in this repo

The funeral prayers were led by Allama Raja Nasir Abbas in Quetta s Hazara Town, attended by thousands of people, including the relatives and friends of thedeceased, locals and residents of the area. Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal, Provincial Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau, Parliamentary Secretary for Urban Planning and Quetta Development Authority Mubeen Khan Khilji, Saleem Ahmed Khosa, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, Federal Minister Ali Zaidi and MWM leaders also attended the funeral.
