ATHENS - Supporters of jailed terrorist killer Dimitris Koufodinas, who is on a hunger strike demanding transfer to an Athens jail, will take to the streets of the Greek capital in defiance of COVID-19 restrictions banning gatherings.
Greek police said they would shut down a major metro station, Panepistimio, at the University of Athens the afternoon of Feb. 26 as a security measure with the backers of Koufodinas becoming more aggressive in their demands.
Koufodinas was one of the heads of the disbanded Nov. 17 terror group that killed 23 people, including five Americans attached to the US Embassy over the years, the band of killers broken up ahead of 2004 Athens Olympics.
