MOUNT HOLLY  In 2020, the year of the coronavirus pandemic, the township had to cancel the big public events that once brought thousands of residents to the downtown High Street, White Street and Mill Race Village area.  From the annual Saint Patrick s Day Parade to the Halloween Witches Ball to the December Christmas Tree Lighting, everything from March on was canceled. Or, as more optimistic website and social media posts put it, postponed to 2021.  Now it is 2021, and the first big main street event of the year, the 28th annual Mount Holly Fire & Ice Festival, is on for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to event organizer Audrey Winzinger. Except this year, event organizers are calling the festival an ice exhibit due to COVID restrictions on crowd sizes and side attractions like food and drink stands.
