Black workers in Indiana, who earn 79 cents on every dollar earned by white workers, end up receiving less through social security benefits at retirement age. As a result, the poverty rate among older Black Hoosiers is 10 times higher than the rate for white Hoosiers.

Vigils Continue Sunday For Victims In FedEx Facility Mass Shooting

A crowd gathers at Monument Circle on Sunday afternoon to honor the eight victims of Indianapolis latest mass shooting.
Vigils for the victims of Thursday night’s mass shooting at a FedEx facility continued on Sunday as people gathered downtown to mourn those who were killed and to honor Daunte Wright who was killed by a police officer in Minnesota.
A crowd gathered around 2 p.m. at Monument Circle to honor the lives of the eight individuals who died:

Those attending the prayer vigil were asked to bring flowers, pictures and candles. An estimated 250 people attended vigils held Saturday to honor the victims. A fourth public vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday.
