upset family there. tucker: they do sound like a very upset family. upset specifically at cnn. can you think of anything more unsettling having survived dealing with ad natural disaste? we ve seen this, this is something most americans have wanted to say to reporters who try to catch people at their most vulnerable. either in an evacuation situation, an emergency, a funeral. it s almost like disaster or grief, i would have to say with all that new media, with evert being exposed to so much media, i think people might be feeling a t lot more comfortable to say what s on their minds these day days. tucker: it s always great to see you, thank you. a professor at the university of tampa is out of the job tonight after he suggested hurricane harvey was comic graduation on the state of texas for daring to
danger of losing georgia and texas and then on election days he wins all of those states and gets elected president. is there a jolt? if republicans end up defying in the special elections all of the headlines about could they be in trouble in kansas and in georgia, if these revert to form like they did on election day last november, does that draw those republicans in congress who don t really know what to make of trump still? does that draw them closer to him? you know, it might. right now the gop is kind of getting i am perve yus to bad news. there was all of this talk about how the republicans were in danger of having red states turn blue and danger in ways maybe even in the house. this could have been a wave election and polling wasn t good and they won at every level. right now the gop is in a mode where it s sort of saying, show us if there s all of this energy out there, if there s all of this activism out there, are these new voters?
has proven to be very good at, you know, selling his viewpoint on how trade should change and i think a lot of his new cabinet members like wilbur ross at commerce will have an easier time getting behind his proposal to sort of tear up these trade deals and have a new approach. but the test is going to be when they have to put the pen to paper and come up with the specifics. is it going to be easy for these people to swallow these changes or kind of revert back to their old beliefs? one thing we often see is that new administrations generally keep at least someone, at least one, you know, sort of key position from the prior administration. bob gates of defense. they oftentimes will keep someone from an opposing party. we haven t seen either of those yet from the president-elect. do you think we will and who? he did say that he has taken some advice from president obama when it comes to some of these picks. you know, i think he considered several. obviously, he interviewed senator j

can the country heal amid all of this. that s why donald trump is heading to gettysburg. let s talk about with cnn s political commentator, errol louis and abby phillip, national political reporter of the washington post. thank you both for getting up so early on a saturday morning to talk to us. i want to circle back real quickly to what vice president biden said and the criticism of those statements. abby, is the criticism valid? i think, you know, given how prominent bullying as an issue has been in this campaign, i think you re right that the trump campaign is clearly going to jump on this, because, you know, joe biden, especially when he s close to his hometown in scranton, pennsylvania, he tends to kind of revert back to sort of that mind-set. but on the campaign trail, i don t think it s entirely appropriate. and i think the trump campaign is probably within its rights to say something. at the same time, it s unlikely to really make a big wave in this campaign.
