i mean, it does not look at all good for the department of justice. i mean, this is a letter sent on a saturday. how many government employees work on a saturday outside of the military or police, right? that s the first thing that looks odd. and and, of course, the timing is suspicious if. we ve talked about this before, it s not just that justice has to be done, it s the appearance of justice is extremely important. and these kinds of things really make it look like there s something going on here. even if there s nothing going on here, the appearance really does count when you re running the justice system. and i don t know why the department of justice continues to make these kind of actions, because to me it looks bad even if there s nothing nefarious going on. it just doesn t look good, and i don t understand why the department of justice can t figure this out before they act. all eyes will be on the capitol tomorrow because devon archer, if he does come forward, will have a lo

testimony. lucas tomlinson is live with that developing story. hi, lucas. reporter: hi, aishah. . first, some breaking news this morning. on sunday morning futures, maria bartiromo exclusively obtaining a letter about devon archer just one day before he s supposed to appear before the house oversight committee. the republican chairman of the committee, james comer, says this letter s an attempt at intimidating his witness. the justice department wants archer to surrender to be put in prison. he was sentenced last year for swindling a native american tribe out of $60 million in bonds. the letter from the justice department reads in part, quote, the government writes to apprise the court of the status of the defendant deafen deafen arch ear s appeal of his judgment for conviction and request the court set a surrender iser date to to commence his term of imprisonment. now, james comer appeared on sunday morning futures earlier and spock about this letter.
