City of Tshwane Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Utilities and Regional Operations Themba Fosi says the explosion that occurred at the Mooikloof Substation on Wednesday night was due to a fault originating from one of the 11kV power lines outside the substation .
While power has been restored to some areas, some are still without electricity after seven powerlines collapsed on Sunday, allegedly owing to vandalism.
