On Saturday, Cumbria Police confirmed that Olwyn Mary Kirkby, aged 71 from Hexham, passed away in hospital. The collision occurred at the junction of Ellerthwaite Road and New Road in Windermere at around 8:45pm. It involved a Red Citroen C3 and two Pedestrians, a man and a woman from Hexham. The man and Ms Kirkby were taken to Preston Royal Hospital. Sadly, as a result of her injuries, Ms Kirkby died on the evening of Wednesday 16th December 2020. The family have been informed and a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed. The man is making a good recovery. The driver of the car was uninjured and is assisting police with enquires.

A Dallas teenager has been been indicted for the murder of a well-known North Dallas marketing executive in May 2020.
Anthony Lewis, 17, was indicted on Tuesday on charges including aggravated robbery, capital murder, and evading arrest.
He is currently being held in Dallas County Jail on $1,525,000 bond.
