Hurricane matthew is now expected to be very close to Floridas Atlantic coast by tomorrow night. The hurricane warning area there has been expanded. This morning, matthew remains a category 3 storm with winds of 125 miles per hour. The storm center has moved off the coast of cuba after making landfall there last night. At least 11 deaths are blamed on the storm, most in hardhit haiti and neighboring dominican republic. 145mileperhour winds slam the island. Floodwaters and mudslides caused extensive damage and roads are impassible and a key bridge was washed out. Like bulldozer flew by. I can tell you this exactly. The u. N. Day. Here is the latest. Matthew weakened slightly as it moved closer to the u. S. It is now a category three storm with sustained winds 120 miles per hour. Hurricane force winds extend 60 miles from its center. Matthew is expected to remain a dangerous storm as it heads north and will be near or over the georgia and South Carolina coast tomorrow. At least 330 people are reported dead in three caribbean nations, most in haiti. Residents have already lost power. States of emergency have been declared in florida, georgia, and South Carolina. The wind and rain picked up near port st. Lucie overnight but the potential storm surge is the main concern.
