Awantec looking forward to brighter future with Google Cloud partnership

AWANBIRU Technology Bhd, previously known as Prestariang Bhd, is looking forward to a brighter future after going through a storm over the last two years with the loss of the much-coveted Sistem Kawalan Imigresen Nasional (SKIN) contract in late 2018. Now, the technology and talent development group has found itself a new avenue of growth through its partnership with Google Cloud to provide cloud-based data services to Malaysia’s public sector agencies. In an exclusive interview with The Edge last week, Awantec president and group CEO Dr Abu Hasan Ismail says the partnership with Google Cloud is a step forward for the group from its previous arrangement with Microsoft.

MyDIGITAL s benefits broad-based, but won t be immediately felt

LAST week, scores of technology-related companies saw their share prices climbing ahead of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s announcement of the MyDIGITAL blueprint on Friday. Digital services and solution providers such as Revenue Group Bhd, Dataprep Holdings Bhd, GHL Systems Bhd, Dagang NeXchange Bhd, Censof Holdings Bhd and ManagePay Systems Bhd were among the top gainers, along with two obvious winners Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) and AwanBiru Technology Bhd. Prestariang Systems Sdn Bhd, a unit of AwanBiru formerly known as Prestariang Bhd has been appointed a managed service provider (MSP) to manage cloud services for the government. TM, on the other hand, has received conditional approval to provide services to the government for the migration of 80% of public data into the hybrid cloud system by end-2022. This is expected to translate into lower government cost in information technology management and better efficiency in the collection and management of data.

AwanBiru Technology unit appointed MSP to manage public cloud services

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 19): Prestariang Systems Sdn Bhd, a unit of Main Market-listed AwanBiru Technology Bhd (formerly known as Prestariang Bhd), has been appointed as a managed service provider (MSP) to manage cloud services for the government. During his unveiling of the MyDigital blueprint earlier today, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government had appointed Prestariang Systems, Enfrasys Solutions Sdn Bhd and Cloud Connect Sdn Bhd, which will manage services provided by cloud service providers (CSPs). The CSPs comprise Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), which have received conditional approvals from the government. As part of the government’s Cloud First strategy under the MyDigital blueprint, the government is aiming for the migration of 80% of public data into the hybrid cloud system by end-2022, which is expected to translate into lower government cost in IT management and better efficiency in the collection and management of data.
