Congress has the opportunity to give low-income parents in theDistrict of Columbia scholarships of up to $7,500 to enroll theirchildren in a private school of their choice. The proposal, passedby the Senate Appropriations Committee and the House ofRepresentatives, will come to a final vote in the near future aspart of the FY 2004 D.C. Appropriations bill or an omnibusappropriations bill.
