The LBCC Board of Trustees voted this week to censure one of its own members, but the public was left guessing about a litany of serious allegations against board members, including sexual harassment, extortion, threats and political corruption.
The first batch of votes show that Area 3 incumbent Sunny Zia has 75% (3,301 votes) while challenger Marianne Case has 25% (1,084 votes); Area 5 incumbent Virginia Baxter has 65% (7,102 votes) with challenger Juan Cepeda-Rizo bringing in 35% (3,874 votes).

The board was expected to vote at its regular meeting next week whether to place the bond measure on the Nov. 8 ballot, but their remarks Wednesday suggested they will likely hold off and seek alternative funding options for the stadium project.
All district employees regardless of their current work assignment will need to provide proof of vaccination by Jan. 3, and students will need to show proof by Jan. 22 to be allowed on campus.
