Mbeya traders hail Samia’s directives on tax collection
BUSINESSMEN in Mbeya Region say directives given by President Samia Suluhu Hasan to Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) officials to stop using force in collecting taxes have provided new hope to them.

On April 1 this year when swearing in various ministers she appointed, President Samia ordered TRA to stop using force when collecting taxes from traders saying the practice cause many businesses to close.
She also directed the Finance and Planning minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba to expand taxpayers’ base while being guided by wisdom and brains instead of force and harassment.
