The Biden administration has blacklisted three Sudanese companies on accusations of undermining the peace, security and stability in their war-torn country through financing the conflict's warring sides.
The African Union Commission (AU) has reaffirmed its suspension of Sudan from commission over failure to return power to democratic government since 2019. The AU on Wednesday recalled that on June 6, 2019, the African Union Peace and Security (PSC) Council suspended the participation of the Republic of Sudan in all AU activities until the effective establishment of a civilian-led Transitional Authority, as the only way to allow Sudan to exit from its current crisis.
Nine months into war, nearly eight million people have been forced from their homes in Sudan as the United Nations calls for urgent additional support to cope with the crisis.
UNITED NATIONS The International Criminal Court s prosecutor told the U.N. Security Council on Monday his "clear finding" is that there are grounds to believe both Sudan s armed forces and paramilitary rivals are committing crimes in the western Darfur region during the country s current conflict.
