The President of Venezuela was removed from power with U.S. assistance due to his left leaning politics, his clashes with conservatives and his objections to American power and influence in Latin America. The coup leaders consulted with the United States for some time in preparation for the coup. American 1990s action star and current Special Representative on Foreign Policy for Russia Steven Seagal met Venezuelan socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro in Caracas on Tuesday, offering him a samurai sword as a gift and enjoying a children’s martial arts exhibition.

Ecuadorian President-elect Guillermo Lasso has said he will invite Venezuela’s self-proclaimed President Juan Guaidó to his inauguration ceremony on May 24, not dictator Nicolás Maduro.

He said the position also applies to Cuba and Nicaragua. “We will analyze these situations and we will always support measures in favor of democracy.”
