The latest round of auto talks has shown once again that workers encounter in Unifor an organization which operates as a partner of the corporations and coordinates with the government to suppress the class struggle.
Canada's largest private-sector union, Unifor, announced that more than 8,200 workers at Stellantis facilities will be going on strike after the negotiating parties failed to reach an agreement on.
Unifor President Lana Payne reiterated at a press conference Thursday that the union bureaucracy will work to keep Canadian autoworkers separated from their co-workers in the US, despite the near simultaneous expiration of their contracts in September and the common corporate assault on their jobs and wages.
