Main St., Lock Haven, is where the Clinton County Housing Coalition offers county residents a place to stay when facing homelessness. LOCK HAVEN Homelessness. It’s a word that looms over many jobless renters’ heads as they struggle to pay their rent during the COVID-19 pandemic. This threat is being kept at bay for now with an eviction moratorium, first put in place in September of 2020 by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), to prevent landlords from evicting renters due to non payment. However, this solution is only a temporary fix to a growing problem.

But in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent economic fall out, it may be on the minds of some in the area who are struggling to pay rent. So what do you do if you’re in that position? The Clinton County Housing Coalition (CCHC) funded through Housing and Urban Development offers various services to help get a person or family into permanent housing. For homeless individuals or families, the center can offer housing in either the Life Center or Merit House, both at 330 E. Main St.
