Grand Prairie ISD will give COVID-19 bonus payments to teachers, staff

All full-time staff and long-term substitutes at Grand Prairie ISD will receive a one-time payment of $1,000 as a thank you for working through the COVID-19 pandemic.
School board members voted unanimously last week to provide the bonuses, which will be handed out the week of May 3, according to the district.
“The board wanted to express its appreciation not only for what our educators do every day, but also for how they have risen to the many challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Board President Aaron King said in a written statement.
