Kolkata, Dec 17: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has on Thursday called Centre s order of deputation for three serving IPS officers of the state despite the state s objection an exercise of power and blatant misuse of emergency provision of IPS Cadre Rule 1954.
This comes after the Home Ministry has sent another communication to West Bengal Govt to relieve three IPS officers at the earliest after the state govt refused it at first.

Relating this move of central govt to upcoming assembly election of the state Banerjee said, this act is nothing but a deliberate attempt to encroach upon State s jurisdiction and demoralize the serving officers in WB. This move, particularly before the elections is against the basic tenets of the federal structure. It s unconstitutional and completely unacceptable!

KOLKATA/NEW DELHI: Mamata Banerjee was Thursday waging a hardy battle with the Modi government that demanded three of her IPS officers on central deputation against her will, and another with mutinous TMC leaders led by a regional satrap seeking to thwart her bid for a third term in office.
As the West Bengal chief minister was busy containing the fallout of an internecine feud in her TMC following a rebellion by a redoubtable Suvendu Adhikari, the Centre shot off a fresh letter to her government to immediately relieve three IPS officers for central deputation.

Kolkata, Dec 17 : The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday posted three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from West Bengal on central deputation for five years.
In a letter issued on Thursday, the ministry said that south Bengal Inspector General (IG) Rajeev Mishra has been posted as the IG of Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Deputy Inspector General (Presidency Range) Praveen Tripathi as DIG Sashastra Seema Bal and Diamond Harbour Superintendent of Police Bholanath Pandey as SP of Bureau of Police Research and Development.

Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress on Thursday said that the West Bengal government will not release three Indian Police Service officers on deputation following the diktat of the Centre, and dared the BJP-led regime to impose President s Rule in the state. The Centre s order in this regard is unconstitutional and unacceptable , senior TMC leader and Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee told a press conference here. We will not send them on deputation. At most, the Centre can impose Presidents Rule. We welcome that. If the Centre has the power to do that, let it go ahead, he said.
