Aficionados and connoisseurs of shotgun houses rejoice, because you are being treated to a month-long fix of tours and programming surrounding your favorite local architectural style. The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans’ Shotgun House Month presented by Entablature Design + Build & Entablature Realty, June 1-30, is virtual and features five houses, plus a bonus house, and panel discussions with homeowners, designers, contractors and other industry professionals. All of the programs are free, with a suggested donation of $25. The funds raised benefit PRC’s Revival Grants program, which provides free home repairs to low-income homeowners in the Tremé neighborhood. Event organizers say that this worthwhile program has been especially helpful to several families during the pandemic.
