ABERDEEN, S.D. (vcsuvikings.com) – The Valley City State women’s basketball team overcame a gradual start to finish with a road victory over Presentation College Saturday, 71-45.
Four Vikings scored in double figures Saturday including 13 points each from Allie Critchley and Dani Schwanke. Taryn Dieterle and Adriana Torres each chipped in 12 points for the Vikings. Macey Kvilvang pulled down a team-high nine rebounds while Dieterle, Meredith Dumas, and Andranae Powns each grabbed six.
Valley City State improves to 5-8 overall and 3-4 in the NSAA. Presentation falls to 1-16 overall and 0-6 in the North Star.
It was a slow start Saturday as the Vikings held a narrow 13-10 lead after the first quarter. Leading by six points with 3:30 until halftime, a bucket from Dieterle sent Valley City State on a 14-8 run to hold a 33-23 advantage at the buzzer.
