They were destroyed. Now residents are telling me that they smelled a natural gas leak earlier in the day earlier this evening and then suddenly the unthinkable happened. The flames spread quickly. Residents shared this cell phone video of the blaze with us. Devonte sewell was walking down the street toward the townhome. The flames started coming from the middle of the building. Like every building caught on fire like three buildings. They all just collapsed in. Reporter two people were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. One was a resident suffering from respiratory problems, the other a baltimore gas and electric employee who was working in the complex. We believe he was working on a potential concern of a natural gas leak or order of a leak and he was investigating and evidently there was an explosion subsequent to that investigation. Reporter its still not clear what caused the leak or explosion. Residents say they could smell the gas before disaster struck. Em
