Article content Over the last decade or so, Alberta Health Services (AHS) has done everything in its power to consolidate all of Alberta’s ambulance serviceand dispatch under its jurisdiction. At the beginning, many areas of the province were happy to surrender the service and the related cost to AHS. At the end of last year, 2.5 million of Alberta’s 4.4 million residents had their EMS dispatches operated by AHS.
