Pastors begin receiving vaccines in Alabama

Alabama pastors have begun receiving their vaccinations this week and sharing their stories.
“I know of quite a few of our ministers who have gotten the vaccine,” said Danette Clifton, director of communications for the United Methodist Conference of North Alabama, which includes more than 600 churches.
Clifton said that while it has not been widely publicized, clergy have been categorized as frontline critical workers as part of allocation phase 1B in the state vaccination allocation plan. They are specifically mentioned in a footnote to Phase 1B, along with school teachers, child care workers and grocery store workers.
