A man died after his car fell into the Mahi river from a bridge in the Hadod village of Lunawada taluka in Mahisagar district. The body of the man was fished out on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred on the old bridge on the Mahi river near Hadod village. The bridge is used by commuters even as a new bridge has come up on the river near the village. The deceased Mayur Patel was a resident of Kakachiya village in Lunawada taluka of Mahisagar district. He lost control of the car while he was on the bridge and the car fell into the river. It is believed that the reason for the incident may have been a damaged or uneven portion of the bridge. The man was unable to come out of the car and drowned in the river despite efforts by firemen from Lunawada to locate the car and bring him out. The body was eventually fished out by the fire officials.
