voters are responding to that and signaling back to the party that it s the number one issue that they care about. does that mean independents see it the same way? no. does that mean republicans see it the same way? no. we mentioned josh holly. if this was such a bad issue for him in missouri, why has it been in every poll his lead is increasing, increasing and increasing? i think this issue cuts different ways in different places. what healthcare means to a conservative republican is certainly different than a liberal democrat who wants a medicare for all type program that would take away all the care our seniors turn to. dana: it is an issue to look at. maryanne mentioned women in particular. there was a new poll last night that we had here at fox news on who men and women will vote for. men prefer a candidate candidate 40% to 42%. but women saying that they prefer a democratic candidate 55% to 37%. that s an 18 point lead.
into power. i mean, again, how do you run on a repeal and replace and have a plan to do neither when you get there? i think people still remember when the previous administration said if you like your health care, you can keep it. if you like your doctor, you can keep them. that ended up being a lie. people remember when nancy pelosi stood up there and said, we have to pass it to unit. premium prices went up. 90% between 2014 and the spring of 2017. that s unsustainable. healthcare is extremely important. we need to make sure we re not pulling the rug out from under people. we need to execute and get results. dana: i know you re campaigning every day. real clear politics average has the michigan senate race with the incumbent sorry, not incumbent. 53.8% to your 37.5%. that s just the average. i m sure you are seeing some different numbers internally. do you have a way in the next 19 days to overcome that deficit?

facing this country. we need to make sure we have a market based patient center approach that must cover preexisting conditions. whatever vote that i vote for has to have a plan to have regulatory reform in a manner that lowers cost while increasing quality of care. a way that increases transparency to get the best care for folks. the biggest problem is coming forward without a plan. we need to make sure we have a plan. i don t think people love obama care as much as they are afraid of losing healthcare. healthcare is very important. we have to make sure we empower doctors and patients, not insurance companies. dana: it was interesting in that fox news poll as well. we know republicans and democrats are polarized. people feel strongly, negatively about that. obamacare has more favorable at 53% than either the democratic party, the republican party or president trump. and that s really interesting because in 2010 during that midserpl, obamacare is what brought all those republicans
saying he supports coverage of preexisting healthcare. it s personal for him because he has an adorable son who has preexisting healthcare condition. on the one hand he s trying to gut it. on the other hand he s trying to use it to win a senate seat. dana: i wonder if the republicans just haven t been thorough enough about talking about preexisting conditions. concern about government takeover healthcare was down at 40%. 65% think they re more concerned ab the topic maryanne just mentioned. what you re looking at is a consolidation of democrats for the healthcare issue. every campaign, both parties run on a different set of issues. what we ve seen based on television ad vibes and digital vibes out of the democratic party is that a large number, high percentage, vast majority of the investment they ve made in almost every race is on the issue of healthcare. not surprisingly, the core
