Philip Nievas, 21, and his sister, Precious Nievas, 25, were on their way home from work when they were broadsided by a vehicle allegedly driven by a man fleeing the police for a traffic violation at around 10 p.m. on April 26in West San Jose, according to a report from KTVU News.
Officers said they tried to pull over a Honda Accord but the driver refused to stop, ran a red light, and crashed into the siblings’ Toyota Camry, the report added.
The San Jose Police Department said the impact pushed the Toyota Camry approximately 250 feet forward into the sound wall where it came to rest.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - A teenage driver has been charged with two counts of murder in the death of a pair of siblings who were killed last week as the suspect tried to evade sheriff’s deputies, the Santa Clara County District Attorney s Office said.
The district attorney said Roberto Joseph Garcia, 18, had cannabis and a firearm in his car as he evaded deputies on April 26. He already faced DUI charges from another recent incident, authorities said.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - The two victims killed by a fleeing driver in San Jose earlier this week were siblings, the coroner s office confirmed.
The Santa Clara County Coroner s Office identified the victims as Precious Nievas, 25, and her brother Philip Nievas, 22, both of San Jose.
Officers said the victims died Monday night after a Honda Accord ran a red light and slammed into the victims Toyota Camry.
The crash happened Monday night around 10 p.m. at Lawrence Expressway after officers tried to pull over a Honda Accord. Officers said the driver refused to stop, ran a red light, and crashed into the victims Toyota Camry.
