Over the last year, my attention span for movies has deteriorated quite a bit. Troubling given my chosen career, I know but I have grounds to shirk some responsibility for it. Unless you’re at the movie theater seeing a fresh release (now almost a foreign concept), watching a film means sitting before a streamable product that runs parallel to your social feeds and DMs. Even before the pandemic, product placement meant many popular movies were reproducing our lived realities of ubiquitous marketing.
