James Tillman Deason

Wednesday, April 7, 2021 10:10 am James (Jim) Tillman Deason, 71, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Jim was born July 17, 1949, in Montgomery, Ala., to the late Tillman and Aileen Deason. Jim resided and graduated from Autauga public school system in 1967, and he served in the Vietnam War from July 1969 to January 1972. Jim was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda- Alpha Phi Chapter and graduated from Troy State University in 1974 with his Bachelor’s of Science Degree. He continued his education and graduated with his Master Degree in Counseling and Human Development from Troy State University in 1978. At an early age, Jim professed his faith and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior; he was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland where he often spoke fondly of his years of service in the children’s nursery.
