Following a year in which most Fourth of July events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, area residents can attend a variety of in-person events this holiday.
Here’s a list of local parades, fireworks and other events to celebrate Independence Day.
Bridgewater
The parade starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 4, on Grove Street, then travels onto Summer Street, to Dean Street, to Worcester Street, through the center of town, onto Summer Street and ends at Bridgewater State University.
The Music and Art Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on The Quad at Boyden Hall at Bridgewater State University, at 131 Summer St. The carnival will be held at 5 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. on Legion Field, at 175 Bedford St.

North Middleborough 4th of July Parade set for July 3

Come celebrate Independence Day at the North Middleborough 4th of July Parade on Saturday, July 3 at 10 am, starting at the Pratt Free School.
Everyone is welcome to participate: walkers, animals, bicycles, families, floats, musicians, organizations, tractors, vehicles of all sorts, etc. Especially needed this year is musical performers, since our usual groups have not been able to practice due to Covid 19. Prizes will be awarded in many categories.
Participants should sign in at the Pratt Free School by 9 am. For those of you who come to cheer the marchers on, this is the only parade you can see twice since it travels down Plymouth Street, turns around at Titicut Street and returns to the Pratt Free School where, directly following the parade, the award ceremony is held.
