Kansas is flat, and straight, and plain, and boring. Or at least that's what you've been told by, well, anyone who has ever driven through Kansas. There

Bright colors splashed across paint canvasses in the form of cats, flowers and birds have brought joy to Debbie Withers in her Pratt home for many years, and now she is sharing those paintings, created by her mother Virginia Mills Garrison, with the public for several months at the Pratt County Historical Museum. My mother was very much an extrovert. She loved bright colors, she loved glitter; painting was such a joy for her, Withers said. That s just the way she was. Her art was her saving grace. It kept her going. She would be thrilled that we are having another exhibit with her work.
Year in Review: 2020 was memorable in so many ways
Pratt Tribune
Editor’s Note: It’s time to look back at the year just past - 2020, and remember the notable stories that were published in the Pratt Tribune. It was a memorable year in many ways. Christmas decorations on display at Pratt County Historical Museum
Pratt Tribune
PRATT Just last week, Charmaine Swanepoel, Director of the Pratt County Historical Museum, was lamenting the fact that her love of community and Christmas was somewhat disjointed this year because, with the museum closed under COVID-19 regulations, she couldn t share the wonderful Christmas decorations with visitors. But then she got an early Christmas present of sorts from the 9-member board of directors for the museum - a few special days to be open for the public before Christmas. They got together for a special meeting and found there were several people willing to be there to open our doors for a few days, she said. We are so very happy to open for our community, we have such wonderful things here to show.
