Ashley Montenegro was voted in as the new president of the Silver Schools Board of Education Thursday night, but outgoing President Eddie Flores put a little wrinkle in the board’s plans.
During discussion on the superintendent search, Flores said, “After listening to my constituents and staff, I wonder if we should end the search, and name Mr. [Curtis] Clough the superintendent. He’s here, and if we wait too long, we might not have him here.”
“You really threw me a curveball with that,” Montenegro responded. “We can talk about it, but we wouldn’t be able to vote until it’s on the agenda. We’d have to talk about having a special meeting, or getting it on the next agenda” for Feb. 15.
