Madal Virupakshappa, who was the chairman of KSDL, has been charged with demanding bribes for allotting a contract for supplying chemicals to KSDL, through his son Prashanth Madal, a Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer.
Karnataka BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa, whose bail in a corruption case was recently cancelled, was arrested today in a bribery case involving the Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd where he was the chairman.
The High Court had reserved its judgment in the matter last week. The case pertains to the alleged demand and receipt of bribes for allotting contract for supplying chemicals to the state-run company.
