In the face of prevailing COVID – 19 pandemic the Government has taken every possible measure to provide all required facilities notwithstanding the health related restrictions imposed to ensure safety of the public. As the tourism sector is a vital component of the national economy of this country, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa called on the entrepreneurs of the field to get ready to embark on a new journey by overcoming challenges.
President made these remarks during a discussion with the representatives of the tourism sector held at the Presidential Secretariat today (17). Heads of line institutes in the tourist industry and leading entrepreneurs were present.

Bangalore City Police have gone out of their way to rescue people in distress.
Recently, two cops were able to save the life of a girl who was about to jump in front of a moving train. Dial 112, the police helpline number, received a call from a man in Muthyalanagar, who has his house near the railway tracks, about a girl who had been waiting for a train for a long time. The man said that the girl appeared to be disturbed.

UDUPI: Police top brass has issued commendation letters and cash awards to policemen for handling and detecting sensitive and important cases reported in Udupi district police limits. Devajyoti Ray, inspector-general of police (western range) has announced the awards, said N Vishnuvardhan; superintendent of police, adding this recognition should spur these policemen across ranks and their peers to redouble their efforts towards policing.
Sharing details of cases that earned the staff the above recognition, Kumarchandra, additional SP said it was the diligence shown by personnel of cyber, economic offences and narcotics police station that helped them nab two people who had created a fake FB profile in the name of Harish Bangera, resident of Koteshwara.
