JioPhone Next smartphone comes preloaded with a device locking feature which will restrict user access in case of failure in paying the EMIs. The phone has got a price-tag of Rs 6,499 and can also be purchased by paying Rs 1,999 upfront and the rest via EMI for up to 24 months. So, if the user fails to pay the EMI installment, the feature will restrict phone access and may block a certain number of apps.
Reliance’s JioPhone Next is expected to appeal to India’s massive smartphone market as a budget-friendly android, as compared with Google’s new Pixel 6 series.
