Tipra Motha, a regional party floated by Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, scion of the erstwhile royal family, emerged as the second-largest party after the BJP in the recent Tripura election.
Pradyot Manikya Debburman, whose tribal-dominated party Tipra Motha is leading on 12 seats in Tripura, told NDTV today that their growing presence will ensure that the BJP will not be able to "sideline" issues relating to tribals.
Twenty thousand government jobs, a resolution against contentious citizenship law, and a drugs-free state are some of the big-ticket promises made by the Tipra Motha party.
