UNITED NATIONS: India has said the Sustainable Development Goal of achieving affordable and clean energy for all will require concerted global action, strong political commitment as well as innovative ways of expanding energy access and promoting renewable energy.
We have about 10 years to attain Sustainable Development Goal number seven, and ensure access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy for all, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Raj Kumar Singh said Wednesday.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has issued a tender for off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping system, to be deployed on a pan-India basis, under Component-B of the ministry of new and renewable energy’s (MNRE) Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) programme.
The last date for submission of bids is 4 February 2021. Prospective bidders are expected to pay Rs25,000 towards bid document cost.
In all, 317,975 pumps are slated for installation across 30 states and five union territories.
The scope of work includes design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing, and commissioning of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) of 1-10 HP, including complete system warranty, repair, and maintenance for five years.
