The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday directed a State Legal Service Authority committee headed by a former judge, Justice AN Venugopala Gowda, to probe the deaths of 24 Covid-19 patients in Chamarajnagar and submit its report by Monday.
A division bench consisting of Justice AS Oka and Justice Aravind Kumar recorded its displeasure over the manner in which the government appointed a retired judge of its choice to head the commission of inquiry while the court was seized of the matter.
