A single-judge bench of Justice Jasmeet Singh asked the Deputy Conservator of Forest concerned about the core and buffer area in the sanctuary and the number of leopards therein, to which the official said the concept of core and buffer zone does not apply to a sanctuary “which is as small as Asola”.
A single-judge bench of Justice Jagmeet Singh passed the direction after perusing an affidavit submitted by the conservator of forest on certain issues which had been flagged by the HC on September 27.
The direction came after advocates Gautam Narayan and Aditya N Prasad drew the court's attention to a report published in an English newspaper pointing to proposed construction activities around the 14th-century monument site.
