The aggregate surplus of the 5,050 defined benefit (DB) schemes in the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) 7800 index fell to £425.4bn at the end of January this year.

The Pensions Protection Fund (PPF) says the aggregate surplus of the 5,131 schemes in the PPF 7800 Index decreased during October by £5.5bn to £441.5bn from £446.9bn the month prior.
The aggregate surplus of the 5,131 schemes in the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) 7800 Index is estimated to have increased by nearly £6bn to £446.9bn at the end of September 2023, from £441.1bn at the end of August.
