Within days after Russia invaded Ukraine, animal welfare groups and veterinarians from around the world mobilized rescue and assistance efforts to help people and their pets fleeing from the war.
These four lion cubs were bound for the exotic pet trade when they were born at breeding facilities in Ukraine.
