mayors of red city states like indiana, michigan, ohio, illinois, and red districts within that state actually going forward with things that mirror what president obama had in place with regard to climate change. even mad dog mattis, he said climate change does affect national security. i don t think americans wanting power plans to have more emissions out there why his real estate so cheap next to power plans? eric: let me just add something that came up this morning. this order will make americans more vulnerable to climate change. it s important to know that it sends a clear signal to agencies across the federal government, climate change is no longer something that should be considered a priority when making decisions. in fact, 97% of scientists agree that climate change is real and
given those protests and the recent attacks. what s at stake? the president has been laying the ground work for striking a major climate agreement for quite some time. and you might remember that back in november, the president announced he s opposing the keystone xl pipeline citing environmental concerns and the u.s. increased jobs and gas prices without the pipeline. it s not necessary. administration officials also tell me that decision was in part aimed at sending a message to other countries ahead of this summit, that s the united states is serious about tackling climate change. the president recently announced that the epa will reduce carbon dioxide emissions at power plans by 20% at 2030. that s gotten challenged in court. still the administration secured an agreement with china to cut carbon emissions drastically. it s against all of that backdrop that president obama will try to forge this broader
cut egg missions from coal-burning power plans. opposition is already coming from the cole industry and republicans who say it will lead to higher energy costs. by the year to 20-30, the president wants a 30% reduction in carbon pollution for 2005 levels. it also requires individual states to meet specific standards of carbon emission reduction based on consumption levels. another american is under fire for killing a lion in zimbabwe. the zimbabwe government named a pennsylvania doctor as the client of a safari operator arrested on illegal hunting charges. the hunt took place back in april and no charges have been filed against the american hunter. this comes as zimbabwe seeks to extradite a minnesota dentist for killing the famous lion cecil. the numbers are very alarming. and highlights a very huge homicide problem in baltimore.
