Several safety features such as eliminating the single-day gathering, spreading the event out over 10 days and allowing participants to register online are in place due to the pandemic, according to organizers.

Feb 5, 2021 EDITOR’S NOTE: Superiorland Yesterdays is prepared by the reference staff at the Peter White Public Library in Marquette. 30 years ago POWELL TOWNSHIP The Powell Township School District has earned honors for an outstanding school bus safety maintenance program, according to AAA Michigan. The school district earned a “Golden Wrench” award, which is given to school districts whose bus fleet is judged free of all safety-related defects for at least three consecutive years. The award was presented Jan. 24 during an Upper Peninsula Traffic Safety Committee meeting in Marquette. The awards are based on mandatory mechanical and structural inspections conducted by state police.
