The Trinidad and Tobago Guardian is the longest running daily newspaper in the country, marking its centenary in 2017. The paper started life as the Trinidad Guardian on Sunday 2nd September 1917 by the newly formed Trinidad Publishing Company Limited.
45 Perenco workers wait for evacuation

Forty-five Perenco Trinidad and Tobago Limited offshore workers are still waiting to be evacuated from the Poui Alpha platform, even as they await the results of their COVID-19 tests.
One of the workers, who wished not to be identified, yesterday described their experience as “the nightmare before Christmas.” The worker added that he and his colleagues remained in limbo last night but noted they were certain they will be miss spending time with their families for Christmas.
