The Bon Secours Hospital in Cork has named a Tralee nurse as its top trainee of the year.
Last week Sarah Quigley from Lisloose in Tralee was named as winner of the 2020 Josephine Potel Award during the annual thanksgiving Mass for graduate nurses which is held in the hospital chapel.
Bon Secours Cork is well known as a leading training centre for nurses with courses provided in conjunction with the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and Midwifery at neighbouring UCC.
Some years ago the hospital s medical staff decided that the student nurses training and working at the hospital should be recognised for both their academic performance and their abilities on the wards.
