The Potchefstroom-born Binder started the MotoGP race in 10th in the grind and quickly worked his way to the front of the field but a crash by Marco Bezzecchi certainly.
Binder started the race in 4th on the grind and during the first lap he moved to 1st, but the race was red-flagged due to a big crash on turn two which ruled Miguel Oli.

South Africa s sole representative on the MotoGP circuit, Brad Binder, has extended his stay with his team KTM.
The Potchefstroom-born Binder has extended his contract with the Austrian-based team for a further three years to take him to 2024.
Binder expressed his excitement at signing a contract with the manufacture and he also feels that they are close to becoming serious contenders on the circuit.
âI m super, super happy to have signed again for three more seasons with KTM and it will take us up to ten years.
âIt s cool to have that belief and support from a company. It s an honour. From here on we can focus on building ourselves towards the front.
